About Us

Australian owned and made since 1994

At Three of a Kind, we create custom-built, handmade furniture from recycled timber. Located in Leichhardt, NSW, our showroom and workshop showcase over 30 years of experience in crafting bespoke furniture. Whether you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind piece or need an entire home or business fitted out, every item is made on-site, by hand and with care.

Meet the Team

Known around town as the "butt ugly blokes building handsome furniture for beautiful people" we are a small, tight knit crew that are proud of what we do.  For more than 30 years, our team has been crafting statement pieces that bring warmth, character and personality to homes across Australia.  Our workshop is where genuine recycled timber gets a second life through the skilled hands of craftspeople who are passionate about creating environmentally friendly furniture designed to last generations. We might not take ourselves too seriously, but we're dead serious about quality craftsmanship and ensuring that every piece delivers exceptional fit, finish and functionality.

The Custom Order Process

1. Dream It

A visit to our showroom or a perusal of our website will provide inspiration.  You can put together your own 'storyboard' with your favourite images to paint a picture for us.  Consider what components you will need to obtain the functionality you are seeking.

4. Quote It

Send us an email or give us a call:

E: threeofakindstore@gmail.com

Ph: 0409 555 173

or contact us via the website

We will give you a price and may make some practical suggestions based on our 30 years of experience

2. Measure It

To help visualise the space, try laying out newspapers or bedsheets to map out the dimensions that you have available. This simple trick ensures the piece will fit perfectly into your space.  Don't forget to consider how chairs and other components will interact.

5. Order It

For bigger projects we may organise a site visit and formal measure up.  Once we are satisfied that we know what's involved we will do a diagram and provide a contract and tax invoice. This can be done in store or via phone/email. We take a 50% deposit which secures your place on our schedule.

3. Draw It

Sketch out a rough diagram.  Don't be intimidated by this, you don't have to be an architect!  Please provide measurements in millimetres to avoid errors or misunderstandings.  Take a photo or scan and contact us with a description of what you are after.

6. Make It

Our turnaround time depends on what we have on our books at the time but is typically between 3-6 months.  If you are on a tight schedule we may be able to accommodate a quicker turnaround time.

Payment on the balance is due once you have approved the final piece and prior to delivery.
