Dining Tables

Our tables are hand crafted from authentic recycled timber that is sourced from historic sites across Sydney. We repurpose framing timbers from period homes and heritage buildings, each beam carrying a unique story from its past. We celebrate the history of each piece by carefully cleaning it up by hand, maintaining its character and charm.

We specialise in tables for quirky spaces or apartments: a large part of our clientele require 'non-standard' size tables ie. long and narrow or small and square sizes that aren't readily available in the bigger chain stores.  Contact us for a quote.

Our Signature Table...

Our signature table is made from premium, wide board, recycled Oregon and has a solid, classic appearance with square legs and a substantial frame.  As the framing timber most frequently used in NSW, the appearance of recycled Oregon can vary wildly depending on its history.  Typically, it features a warm, nutty brown tone and may be enriched with characterful details like "tiger striping" and old nail holes, as seen in the examples below.  Each table in this style is one of a kind and tells the story of the timber's past life.  You can order a signature style table via our online store but if you have specific requirements we encourage you to contact us regarding a custom order.

Custom Table Styles...

...in 26 years we've made A LOT of tables!  Below is a selection of tables that we've made over the years in various sizes and configurations. These tables can be custom ordered in your dimensions and specifications.

The first step in designing your perfect dining table is getting the measurements right! Instead of relying on terms like "4-seater" — which can mean different things to different people — we prefer precise measurements in millimetres to avoid any misunderstandings.

To help visualise the space, try laying out newspapers or bedsheets to map out the dimensions of your table. This simple trick ensures the table will fit perfectly into your dining area.  Once you’ve figured out the size, it’s time to think about the aesthetics. Consider how the timber colour will compliment your existing decor: would a lighter, more modern finish suit your style, or do you prefer the charm of a darker, rustic look?

When you’re ready, give us a call or schedule a visit to discuss your vision. We’ll walk you through your options and help refine your ideas based on over 30 years of experience.  At Three of a Kind, we’re passionate about crafting unique pieces with beautiful heritage timber — and the final touches are entirely up to you!
